I have a food allergy; can I still eat Mi Casa Cake Shop?
We do not bake in an allergen-free environment. While we do have select products that do not contain wheat or nuts, all of our products are baked in an environment where wheat, milk, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, and soy may be present in high volumes. Due to the presence of these allergens at all of our baking facilities, we do not recommend consuming any of our desserts if you are allergic to wheat, nuts, dairy, or eggs.
How should I store and handle my products?
Mi Casa Cake Shop baked goods are meant to be enjoyed as soon as possible. They can survive a car ride as long as you keep the air conditioner as cool as possible. If the size of the cake and the facilities of the venue permit, refrigerate it as much as possible
Do you work with fondant?
Unfortunately we don't. We work primarly with Chantilly cream; a light and fluffy frosting that's not too sweet. In addition, we offer edible icing sheets where we can print any picture or design.
Do you have any products that are Gluten-Free?
We sure do! We offer custards and desserts. Head over to our Menu page. All of our products are produced in facilities where gluten is present, so we do not recommend consuming products from Mi Casa Cake Shop if you are gluten-intolerant.
Do you make cupcakes too?
Unfortunately we don't. However, we do have Mini-Cakes that serve 1 person! See our Menu page page for more details.
Ordering Procedure
How much time in advance do I need to place an order?
We love a good challenge, but please allow a 3-day notice.
Can I make changes to my order?
You can make changes to the design up to 2 days before the cake order data. Unfortunately, we can't be as flexible with cake flavors or sizes.
When will I know my advanced order is ready?
You set the time! When you place an order, let us know the earliest time you're able to pick up the cake and we'll try to have it ready by then.
Order Policies
Can I cancel my order? How?
We understand that things happen and that you may need to cancel the order. Please let us know at least 2 days before the day of pick-up. Unfortunately, we don't accept cancelations on the same day as the pick-up date and you will still be charged the full price of the cake.
My cake arrived damaged, incomplete or wrong, now what?
In the instance that you experience an issue with your order, please call 515-418-0031, and we'll get in touch as soon as possible. Each issue is handled on a case-by-case basis.
Do you offer returns, refunds or exchanges?
We do not refund any cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance of your chosen pick-up time. This includes order changes for future dates.
In-Store Cakes
Can I place a custom order for the same day?
Unfortunately, we need more time to make custom cakes. Please place orders up to 3 days in advance.
Do you have any cakes available without placing an order?
Yes! View our Menu page to see all the mini-cakes and desserts we carry in-store.
We also carry round cakes in two sizes: 8" (12-15 servings) and 10" (20-25 servings).
What flavors do have available?

Can you write a message on in-store cakes?
Of course! Depending on the size of cake we, can write any message.
Quinceañera and Wedding Cakes
How do I schedule a wedding consultation?
We love to work closely with you to offer a dynamic selection of options. You can mix and match flavors to create the perfect look, feel, and taste for your special event. Please call 515-418-0031 to schedule a consultation.
How much in advance to I need to make a reservation?
Every season fills up at different rates. We find that placing an order at least 4 months gives you a good chance of reserving a cake for your special day.
How exactly do deposits work?
Deposits pay for a portion of the total cost of the final cost of the cake. It goes towards any and every effort used to prepare the cake for the big day. For that reason, it's non-refundable.
There's a second deposit for specific equipment for the structure and aesthetics of cakes. For example, cake bases and cake plates are refunded once the equipment is returned undamaged.
When does it need to be paid in full?
We ask that the cake be paid for in full at least 7 days before the wedding date or quinceañera date. If the balance is not paid 24 hours before the scheduled day, we reserve the right to cancel the order.

What forms of payments do you accept?
We accept most forms of payments: cash, credit card, debit card, and contactless payment methods, to name a few.
Do you offer gift cards?
Unfortunately we don't. All purchases must be made in-store
